Kathabi : Crossings :
I like to involve the unconscious and subconscious in my designs in subtle ways and getting th chance to design costumes for ‘Kathabi: Crossings’ was the perfect chance to do so. For the costume design project, I was assigned the character of ‘Sinulid’, the divine personification of thread and weaving. This ethereal goddess is a pivotal character in the play as she appears in a dream sequence to teach the tribes of the Philippines how to weave thus acting as a catalyst for change in the story. From the amazing mind of Dr. Fil Tario from campus 3 , this project was an interdisciplinary collaborative one between campus 2 and 3 as we learnt more about dance and how we can use it to shape fashion.
